Given the recent attacks on 127th and 126th Streets, it would probably be a good time to have more of a presence at the Precinct 28 Community Council Meeting.
The next one is tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 PM.
The precinct community council meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the precinct station house.

Thanks for making us aware of the situation on the block. Our block is a bit unusual, in that the police precinct boundary runs up 127th Street, so those of us on the South side are in the 28th, and those on the North are on the 32nd precinct. The next meeting for Community affairs for the 32nd precinct is on March 19th at 7 p.m. at the Salvation Army Temple at 540 Lenox Avenue at 137th Street.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Harrison, who participated in the Precinct 28 Community Council Meeting on April 8th, indicated that there seems to be a group of individuals who call themselves "OTS" (One Twenty Second). The group seems to be a fledgling gang that is located on 122nd St. & 7th Ave. The group has been involved in one incident, involving the physical assault of a male. The police are aware and are montioring them.
ReplyDeleteOverall, however, crime is down within the 28th precinct. The next meeting is scheduled for May 13th, 2009 at 6:30pm. Attending this meeting gives you a sense for what's going on in our community, the activities of the police dept. and various community based organizations, and also provides options for local residents to participate in worthy events.
